I'm really scared

Sorry this isn't about Corb.

At my pre op today they (there was a student too) found a mass in my breast. I have to have an ultrasound & a mammogram. Also my blood pressure has been a bit high so she wants to check it in 6 weeks after some stress is gone to see if it mellows out. WHAT NEXT!!!!

Going to get busy

Hi Everyone,

Sorry it's been awhile again.

I have been having female issues for sometime now, but I'm getting it taken care of.

Today was the first day of the Spring semester so from now, until May Corb will be going to two different colleges, every Mondays & Tuesdays he will go to CSS for the OT clinic & then every Thursdays he will go to UMD for the augmentative communication clinic (which I'm helping get off the ground) & also on Tuesdays he has been seeing a home based teacher since the beginning of the school year.

Then there's a ton of Doctor appointments,

January 28th = Pre op (for me)
January 30th = Neurologist
February 2nd = Orthopedist (for me)
February 4th = Surgery (for me)
February 6th = Orthopedist
February 10th = Dentist
February 12th = Surgeon (3hrs away)
February 20th = Rehab

And this doesn't include the brother's appointments & the actual pump surgery (3hrs away).

So keep us in your thoughts & please understand why I won't be posting much for awhile.

Corb isn't sick

He had a few days of being emotional and has a really stuffy nose but other then that he's been totally fine. YEAH!!!!

What a VERY un-exciting day

I called to see what the hold up was with making Corbie's therapy appointments and the scheduler said, didn't someone call you about your insurance...yeah NO!!!

So she switched me to someone else and because of his insurance they need a PA prior authorization. YEAH I said that. So they got my hopes up & nothen..... so here we wait to see if MA will approve him.

Code Blue

Corb had a health check with his peds Doc today. Everything was going great, he was done with the Doc, while we were waiting for his turn for the shots room, I was throwing him up in the air to get him to laugh for the front desk girls (they love him) & shortly after I stopped he started gagging & wrenching, because of the Nissen he can't really throw up, so he was really scared, I kept calm but when the one girl asked again if she should grab the Doc & I said yes....well everything went crazy, they called a code blue over the loud speaker, pretty much every nurse was there, his Doc, a lady from O2, the social worker & the life care specialist. I was worried about him but not that worried. Whoa

He's totally OK & happily watching Blue's Clues.

I was worried he had a tummy ache because our evening girl missed the other night due to her & her little guy throwing up.

OMGoodness what a VERY exciting day!!!!

I can't be anymore excited, thrilled, happy, amazed, relieved OMG!!!!!!!!!

The new therapy center I decided to try to get Corb into just called OMG!!!! They don't wait for the PA (prior authorization) the scheduler is working on Corbie's schedule RIGHT NOW!!!!
It will be PT 2x, OT 2x & ST 1x a week OMG you have any idea how excited I am.

I love the students that work with Corb but these are (already) really well trained therapists OMG!!! We now have therapist YEAH!!!!!!!!!

OH and another thing, I got to spend the left over funds of a waiver & his stuff is in. WOW!!!! What an awesome day.

I want to publicity thank my mother for her awesome gift she gave me today. She showed up at my house with a box...it was a lap top!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!

I have wanted a laptop for quite sometime. I hate being upstairs when Corb is downstairs...although I know what he's doing, I can't interact with him & do work at the same time. THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!! Mother...it's the best gift I have ever gotten.

He changed again

I don't know if any of you remember but for a while after Corbie's accident, I had theses feelings, it's one of those unexplainable things (I guess, for religious people, it would be similar to a sign from GOD)

I guess the only way I can kinda explain it, is that it's an over whelming feeling of change. Like Corb grew in some way. Him & I's bond became stronger...like I said it's unexplainable.

Also my Corb man goes to bed EVERY night without crying, he wakes up once a night & just needs to be rolled back onto his side & he's back out. LOVE IT!!!

Today was Corbie's speech evaluation, at the new therapy center that I'm trying to get him into. I heard a few things from the therapist, that has really made my YEAR. I left the room & when I came back, she said, you sure he doesn't say momma, I'm like no. She said, well I thinks he does, because when you left, he was making a sound, very close to momma & he visibly didn't like that you left. My spoiled boy ***blushing*** She also told Corb, you are like candy, I can't get enough of you. Another thing she said was he is so “in there” & that he just has so much potential. You know how nice that was to hear from a therapist, not just us!!! We all know he's going to keep going places :-D

She did also agree the pump would be awesome for him. YEAH, all the more people I talk to, all the more I know my decision is the right one.

With all the work that has been put into getting Corb approved for therapy, MA better just hurry up & approve our requests UGH. He's just so deserves this.

Communication....

A few of you said...it was nice to hear Corb...chatting, talking, jabbering, what ever...everyone said...well that's the unfortunate part...explaining who Corb... truly is...to you all...out there in Corbie's little part of the world wide web...is tough...through only his videos and my words...I have no way of sharing Corbie's communication with you all...because his way of talking...isn't like others...

I know...EVERY...single sound he makes...what it's for...what to do about it..do I need to run...or can I get to it in a sec...I even know (by his breathing) when he thinks something is funny...but not funny enough to out right laugh at...he talks to his toys hanging above him...when he seems someone he knows...he lights up...he's a way....BIG TIME...flirt...oh yeah...he “bitches”....he really hates when his shows end...I can hear him...right now... Our computer is upstairs...I have a video monitor...so I can see him...but I don't need the sound on....I can CLEARY hear him....without it...LOL

He is an amazing child...his understanding is an unknown...but I know his understanding through...his being...is GREAT...even know that ain't the normal...I think it's what makes him...more special then any one of us...

Timed...

I timed how long it takes me to make my special needs snapped body suit (onesie).

It's amazing it takes less then 9 minutes.

I'm also working on fixing the standie (harness)....I will tape him in it as soon as all the kinks are worked out.
